Predict the Stafford Crowd Result

I just hope that this one game won't be the game the whole enterprise will be judged by. I feel a bit of a hypocrite cheering from the sidelines when I'm not there myself.

I'm not in a position to point blame at anyone local or on MyFC. I just thoroughly enjoyed listening to the match and can only imagine how much better (if colder) it would have been to have been there in person.

I'm not speaking for anyone other than myself. I just want to see the club enjoying growing crowds. I am glad to hear about the increases in merchandise sales.

I think this is the correct thing to do, but also people should not judge the MYFC by todays attendance only.

In my opinion, we have to get the deal done then move on.

The MYFC contribution should be judged on 3 things.

1) The average home gate , do people turn up. A poster on the MYFC website said we should work towards an average of 1,500 for the rest of the season. I Think that is a good target. I would like more.

2) The away following. The people that go away will be able to post what an average away following is. I would hope that on average a few hundred should be put on that. Woking this Thurs will be a bad example as it it on TV.

3) Many people would love to watch the games, but cant. many are overseas. The financial contribution that they make to the club is something that we should follow carefully. To put figures on this is impossible, but I am going to do all I can to try and push this side of it as much as possible.

I can only say that there are a lot of MYFC members who are totally committed to make this work. I hope in time we can earn your respect by our actions and effort towards EUFC.

Finally, great result today.

Thats because we were losing for some of the match. When we started winning the noise level, like usual, picked up.

are you suggesting that the attendance was rigged...?

surely not...

I also though the attendance was around the 1200 - 1300 mark, and I can account for two empty spaces at the Plough end; firstly I left the missus behind and secondly the wind was in just the right direction to make it frigging cold in there so I spent the match by the halfway line...

Even if it was only 1055 (i agree it looked more) it was probably 200 more than the 800 or so I would have expected given recent gates and the opposition. So a 25% increase isn't bad is it ?. Those that did turn up could not be dissapointed by the spirit and work rate shown by the lads in the second half especially. Great comeback against admittedly not a very good side. Hope those attending for the first time saw enough to bring them back......only time will tell.

George's goal was a bit special, Stacey's wasn't far behind from a great through ball. Thought McCarthy was going off, maybe the ref had a twinge of conscience about Chukki's dismissal, didnt see it but some nearby said it was more just squaring up than the pseudo head-butt that I heard he was dismissed for.

The consistent response among first-time visitors on the MyFC forum is that they had a terrific experience and will attend again. An encouraging sign that the only thing they moaned about was the cold.

If you are talking about me - my name isn't Brian - never been to Kent - stats took about 10mins - and no - I clearly pointed out that I didn't take in any other factors other than the stats available. And of course you can only have passion for a club if you were born close enough to have broken the office windows when you were a kid. Incidentally, BBC Kent reported that there were about 15 journalists at the game.

You are welcome to support/follow or take an interest in whatever club you like pal. You just don't seem to grasp the fact that some people support their home town club and actually care about it !!

....and, just for the record, not that I have to justify myself to you or anyone else, I didn't break any windows !! Don't p*ss off the locals mate...you might rely on them some day, if there are any of us left !!

Hirsty - you can gripe all you want - something you have been doing since last Tuesday week - and indeed longer looking at some of the threads before then - but if you do - expect some other people to gripe back.

I agree it this is encouraging. It will take time but I am sure it will be built on.

Even more important is using MyFC involvement and money to increase the club's support in the local community. I am sure with time and effort this can even produce better results.
