Didcot tomorrow - no thanks

Recommended Posts

After the pi$$ poor performance of the last game away and the managers admitted lack of ability to motivate his team I will not be travelling to Didcot.

The weather looks freezing with the risk of rain and a lack of covering at one end and a bus stop at the other - not something to look forward too, I will save myself the expence of traveling and gate money to watch Slough get hammered again.

After the toothless idiots stupidity at the home game I dont wish to hand over any of my money to a club supported by a bunch of inbred village idiots.

Change the tune mate. I'm not going to judge all Slough fans, or Slough Town, on the basis of your post. Shame you judge our club on the strength of one fan.

At least he apologised.

It was me, and i lost my temper cos i asked politely at 2.55pm why she was wiping the pasty markings off the board. The lovely lady told me in very friendly terms i should have got there earlier. I asked if they sold chips cos i was vegetarian, but she also told me in her beautiful manner that no, there wasn't any chips.

Silly old me, next time i will book a [****!!****] table and get there at 2pm.

Well it might be, Harry, that we misjudged the number of travelling supporters yesterday and for the B&B Cup. Clearly not all Slough fans are 'fair weather' like your good self, they bother to travel when its cold and miserable.

We ran out of food as a result, regrettable but not the end of the world.

And yes we probably need to improve our catering set-up.

However bad things are over here at least there's one silver lining - we haven't got you as a 'supporter'. Although your non-show today implies Slough can't rely too much on your backing either.

That is the first game I have stayed away from this season, and it is only down to the actions of the toothless idiot and you!

Now rather than you getting the money from me as gate money the entrance fee will go into Sloughs piggy bank instead - so which club is the winner?

Who eat all the pasties, who eat all the pasties, you fat [****!!****], you fat [****!!****], bab's eat all the pasties!

"The Right Honorable Sir Staines Rebel1 PHD MSC MBE BBC ITV Freeview, always more cleverer than anons & bab"

Think that should be more clever, or cleverer, than anons and bab.

Did you really stay away from the game because of the toothless one and me? To think we missed out on your company. Gutted.

OK, let me say, i think Didcot are one of the clubs in our division going places. You've got a good set-up - and plenty of space for putting in some much needed stands; great support - lots of people decked out in scarves and a load of youngsters behind the goal who actually made some noise. The toothless one also came up and apologised to Slough supporters, so fair play to him.

You're also in a great location, near housing and a train station. You could easily play in the Southern Premier, and looking at clubs like Lewes and Histon, Conference south.

OK you ran out of food which was a bit of an oversight considering Slough travel in numbers (well we might see us win away one day) and you gave out so many complimentaries. But hey, [****!!****] happens. Just next time tell the catering women not to be so bleeding rude about it!

Thanks for the sensible and constructive posting.

With regards your comment on the catering staff I will pass that message back because its not the first time we've heard a complaint this year from travelling fans.

While its no excuse the girls don't get paid, do it voluntarily, which makes it harder for us to really have a go at them but there is no place for rudeness and I apologise on behalf of the club.

As for the toothless one, contrary to popular belief on here, the chairman nor the committee even know his name. It seems he apologised to our Chairman before walking around to the Slough supporters to do the same yesterday, which I think was the right thing to do. Time, I hope, to move on.

Concentrating on the game, about time too, its clear even over the past month that Slough are making progress. I think the same also could be said for Bracknell and even Newport, which I'm sure is a concern for you guys. Hillingdon this week takes on extra significance and I can say they were a useful looking side going forward when they drew 4-4 at our place. They have a big long-haired midfielder (Mark Kirby I think was his name) but was the best player on the pitch against us. Stop him and you've got a real chance in my opinion.

Slough have a great following and deserve to be playing at a higher level again. I have no doubt that it will happen, it just may take a while. As even the likes of Farnborough and Fleet are finding out, this League is a tough one to get out of. One or two Fleet supporters thought they'd walk it, based on comments on their messageboard pre-season...I think they are realising now that the SL and Ryman aren't too far apart in terms of quality.
