As I said earlier in the thread, Gibson did not put a block on the game, WE invited him to play us at The Park!

 

As the above thread says though, we would still like to play against EFM, but as we have discussed before in the bar, do you want EFM as they are now or the original EFM of two years ago??

Who is we as there are two SS members (not that kind of SS before anyone starts) who do not appear to have be in the "we".

I'm sure there's no hard feeling from EFM either, Mr Heineken. Although I do think maybe you and Carlsberg should upgrade your names to Stella and Kronenbourg!!

 

As for the EFM/Gibbo thing, well we've attempted to extend an olive branch on several occasions, and he hasn't wanted to know.

 

After we were insinuated in print to have left damaging messages on the Aldershot message board, we went to The Observer to put our side of the story across, to say we had no hard feelings towards Gibson, and to publically tank him for saving our club.

 

He responded by saying he "doesn't recognise" EFM as being St Albans supporters.

 

We tried speaking to him in the bar at Christmas, and GHA and I felt we were banging our heads against a brick wall.

 

Oh, and I believe a goldfish's memory is only five seconds.

Brew a awful lot of your friends and fellow players have told us that they did not invite Gibbo's team.

 

Who does the inviting?, I and they get the impression if any inviting was done it was done by maybe one or two people in SS with intrests in the club not looking to rock the boat. Because the SS players I've spoken to and I know have spoke and the ones on here have ALL said they want to play EFM.

 

Why doesn't the arranger sort out a 3 team tournement with SS, Gibbo and EFM, half hour games all playing each other? If it's SS game it should be allowed, or do we have some politics that we're unaware of?

regards to playing a 3 way game, good idea but not sure if practical on the day in question as most of the team want to get wasted after cup final and it would have to be a very early kick off to get this sorted. perhaps this could be arranged for after this game. Still want to get efm game sorted though and would like to play the boys it just looks like not a CP this year <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I really want to play against anyone, but against the SS would be good. Y doesnt Gibbo go on the SS side and forget about his pub team(not Canvey)who have proberly never heard of the saints!

I don't see any particular reason why the EFM - SS match cannot take place at t'park this year. Surely it can be booked for a earlier / later date, one that doesn't clash with the SS - JGFAPTFC??
