Just spoken to the Herts Advertiser. They're also covering the story, and want to take a photo of all of EFM before the match on Saturday.

I have just come off the phone from speaking to Lee Wood at Queensway. It seems John Gibson has put the block on our Canvey Island Fundraiser getting any kind of mention at all in the match programme.

He has never seemed to have been involved with the supporters from day one. But thats his choice and we are thankful that he saved OUR club.

He's just plain mean! Hey, if you want I can try and organise some publicity around college. One of the Union members is in my History class. Just tell me the details and I might be able to get some posters or whatever. The college is near the ground so people are bound to see it.

'Pop in the Park' - some open air pop festival in Verulamium some time soon, featuring Liberty X and MC Lyrical Tarantula (tbc) amongst others.

 

If that's not a chance for publicity, I don't know what is.

 

Back to the point. EFM have played SS for the last 2 years, in an annual match, played for the Steve Clark Trophy (?). Ideas were being floated of this year's EFM - SS match, although if Mr. Gibson had issues with EFM, a name-change would have been forthcoming. So why did SS choose to play against an otherwise non-existent team?

 

Anyway. When's the Annual Steve Clark Trophy Final (to be played at Clarence Park) between EFM and Saints Supporters taking place?

I think he's bang out of order - this isn't about politics or personalites, it's about raising money for a ill girl, and if Mr Gibson doesn't want to put his weight behind it then he is a very very sad man.

We had our pic done for the NLP last night in The Crown. About ten of us in total, and hopefully now there'll be at least 12 doing the Fundraiser!!

 

Mr Gibson - a little bit of publicity goes a long way. For instance, the Hooded Man told his barber about our Fundraiser and he immediately donated a tenner to the cause.

 

Had you allowed publication of it in the programme, I'm sure we'd have had a great deal more donations.

 

Hopefully, with our articles in the NLP, Herts Ad and Observer, we will still raise a lot of money.
