Whatever people's feelings are regarding the result and performance yesterday, the most important game now is next Saturday's game at home to Aveley. Win that one and we should be 99% safe. We do not want to rely on other teams losing, let's put in 5 big efforts into the final 5 matches of the season and finish with a good run of results.

Every Slough fan that came out of the ground at the end of the match yesterday was obviously understandably very unhappy. Did I think it was a worse performance than that Tonbridge disaster last season ? I thought not, as I felt on that day the team "gave up" for the final period of the match. Was it worse than away to Kidderminster in the Trophy this season ? Again, I thought not, although obviously Kidderminster were a much, much better team than Weymouth. "SloughFlyer" has asked on here "why did anyone standing behind the goal clap after the final whistle". I cannot of course speak for anyone else, but I was one of those who did and will explain my reason for doing so. I think that I will never hurl abuse or criticism towards the team or management at the ground after a game. I couldn't do it. I don't think for one moment that being this way makes me a "better" fan than someone who does. I would hope that someone , or those that did yesterday, wouldn't think that by doing so makes them a "better" fan than me. If letting off steam at the team that way gives you some comfort, at least there is some reason for doing it, but I just think that it is not going to help matters. If I was a player getting abuse, would that abuse make me want to come into training on Tuesday and Thursday and give my all? Would it make me want to give everything come matchday Saturday ? It wouldn't me. Don't get me wrong, as soon as I walked through the door when I got home my other half got it in crystal clear detail as to what I thought had gone wrong during the match. I just don't think shouting uncomplimentary things towards the management and team after a game does anything positive. After the final whistle and the team headed in the general direction towards us fans behind the goal I wasn't clapping, but when Scott had the balls to break ranks and head straight up to the barrier to listen directly to the fans "complaints", I was clapping to show my support and backing for the manager of my football team. That's my view on things. Others on here may have vastly different ones. On another matter, Scott said in his interview that some money had been put behind the bar for us fans to have a drink yesterday. Did any Slough fan know about this ? I didn't hear any talk about this on the supporters coach. A free lemonade would have been one positive on what was a pretty negative day.

The Non-League Paper report mentioned how loud the Slough fans were at Weymouth which is sums up how much noise the away supporters make. It would be a sad turn of events if the connection between the fans and the players disappeared. I have watched Slough for four decades and have always considered our fans a cut above most others. When you compare Scott to a lot of managers he is a good communicator and honest about results. He hasn't got a big squad to work with and a summer of restructuring will hopefully see him go into 25/26 with better options to work with. It's a reality that talented individuals like Chambers will get offers to move on and the budget is limited compared to other clubs. The away support love the club and I would rather stand with them than a lot of other supporters.

Can’t see anything other than positives, a club giving young talent a platform to learn and develop is exactly what we strive to be. It’s what this club is proud of being, giving these players the pathway through the academy into the first team is something we should be proud of too. As a coach for the u11 Academy side my dream is for one of my boys to make it through the system and into the first team. The ultimate goal being one of our youngsters getting a big move and the club receiving a big fee which would mean sustainability for a place we all love. With a small budget this is the best way for the club to operate and something we should be encouraging. it also attracts the best local young talent (which is known for producing very good players) to the club because it offers such a genuine pathway into non-league football. Proud of Balu and looking forward to seeing him develop.

Hi Nathan. Thanks for your reply to my post. Am I correct that you think I am saying not clapping after a game is "abuse". ? No Nathan, I'm not saying that at all. The "abuse"/criticism that I am referring to was the incident at the end of the game, which is what I think Scott refers to in his after match interview. In his interview Scott talks about ............... "some of the comments we got after the game which I've never heard of before in my 250 games here." I may be wrong of course but I think Scott is talking about some Slough fans who came down to the front of the stand we were in behind the goal at the final whistle and loudly made their displeasure regarding that day's performance clear to him. Scott calmly listened to them and then moved away. Scott went on to say in his interview that........ "we deserved it. I don't mind it". (The criticism) I'm not saying those fans were wrong to behave that way. I have said that everyone will have a different viewpoint on things. Just for me it is something that I do not think will help matters, that's all. And Steve D, thanks for the news about the comment from Scott appearing on x/twitter regarding the free drinks. Not for the first time I say NOT EVERYONE HAS A FLIPPIN' SMARTPHONE. And yes, I agree with you Steve, that I would have thought someone on the coach would have announced this to everyone on board. HR I agree with everything you have said the team needs more encouragement from the supporters when they are losing not abuse that gets you know where… In sixty years of supporting the Rebels I have always got behind the team and players what ever way the game is going and have never walked out during a game… On the drinks Colin who was sitting in front of me saw the message from Scott on X ì suppose one of the leaders should of announced it to all before we were getting off the coach. Weymouth has never been a great hunting gound for us it was only a few years back when they put six past us. Away from the game its a great ground to visit the sun was out but very windy and cold had a great chat with there supporters and must say never seen the main stand so sparse a gate of only 830 and a good 100 of those were Rebel supporters. To Scott Management and Players keep your heads up and take no notice of the constant moaners and whingers they will never be satisfied. COYREBELS

The worst performance of the season. Best player was Scott Davies as he didn't get on the pitch. Wasn't a player that was above a 2 put of 10 and everyone of those that played today should pay back what ever wages they got for the game. An absolute disgrace. I also have a question for anyone on here that stands behind the goal and clapped at the end - could you tell me what on earth you are applauding? There was no effort, no heart, no quality, no shots and no performance at all, so what are you clapping?

Just to emphasise the point, two further great pieces of skill from Leon in Southend's game last Saturday against Oldham. They appear in the first two minutes of the clip. If he keeps on showing skill like this, his price tag is going to sky rocket.

One thing I would never do is boo or shout abuse at the team or management after a poor/bad performance. Clapping after a poor performance is something I wouldn't personally do but I can see the reasons why some might choose to. There are some people who think that if you choose to vent your anger after a bad performance, whether that's at the game or on social media, makes you a lesser supporter or not really a true supporter, which of course is utter nonsense. People are different and will react in different ways after a bad performance but by choosing to express their feelings outwardly doesn't make them any less of a supporter than those that choose to bottle up their anger by staying silent. Personally if I was a player getting stick because I was having a shocker I would roll my sleeves up and be determined to prove those supporters wrong but that's just me.

I've got a clearer angle for you: 1st picture, the referee isn't even in shot....should be closer than outside the area, even on his diagonal to get a good view with the play between him and his AR. In a close up of the 2nd picture.....above you can see the player playing volleyball on the line. Would have given Dillon a goal on his debut which he was unfortunate not to get. One other thing I'd add, the AR is nowhere to be seen(perhaps masked by the goalkeeper and players about 3/4 yards out. Either way, neither official has a good enough view and yes it's always difficult when the play is that fast however the referee should be fitter(or closer to play) to be more credible. He is too far away and the AR isn't even in line with the 2nd last defender. I said to my friend as the teams came out the referee and Chippenham gk were virtually wearing the same colour strip/top. You learn not to do this when you qualify as a referee. Not good enough at this level!!

I'd be interested in seeing the algorithm for the Predictive table being a software engineer, but whatever it is, luckily that's not how football works. We could just let the computer work out all out and take up gardening every Saturday. It can only work on the results of previous games and takes no account of the human factor of motivation, morale or literally 1001+ other factors that influence football matches. If I owned that site I'd ditch that page.

Munashe Sundire & Leon Chambers-Parillon have had a good day with Tamworth & Southend respectively and both are now on the verge of playing in the play-offs….. 16 months ago both were playing for us in a 3-0 home win against Braintree. Hopefully Scott will once again find players of this quality to sign for next season.

It's not just the fact that we lost 4-0 to a team that are going down but it's the manner of the defeat that's so disappointing. To hardly have a shot all game let alone a shot on target against a side that have hardly won a handful of games all season is shameful. The players need to take a hard look at themselves and be ashamed of what they served up today. Big response needed or we really are in trouble.

You have to appreciate that its crucial to never let your strikers get too comfortable! God forbid they might start consistently finding the back of the net - and where would the fun be in that?!

Boston and AFC Fylde the two teams immediately above Maidenhead both lost their game in hand tonight making things a bit easier for Maidenhead who remain one off the bottom and still very much in trouble

Funny you mention that Steve because if we had got to the ground earlier than we did I fully intended to walk the 40 minutes down to the beach and back before kick off. Got there too late to do that but did go for a shorter stroll, but either way I wouldn't have missed the chance for a free drink if I'd have known about it ! 😄

For all those who think it is easy to beat Weymouth 16 games and only 5 wins. Playing against the strong wind was not helpful also. Must be said 1 down early but before we could get back in the game there 2nd goal come from another attack hits guy and ball falls to there player who slides it past Chalie no different to Slavi.s goal against Hornchurch. The Salisbury, St Albans and Welling fans seem to think its likely we won't get any more points this season. Very much expecting that to be wishful thinking on their part. Given their recent experiences (losing at Hornchurch and Welling,) even Worthing won't be relishing a trip to our bumpy pitch on the final day of the season! We could have some very big crowds for the St Albans and Worthing games!

Ogo Obi (a blast from the past) one of the top goalscorers in the Isthmian Premier League with Wingate & will probably get approached by National South clubs in the summer.

It felt a bit like the Tonbridge game, in that we probably should have won a fairly low quality encounter, but didn't - at least we picked up a point, which shouldn't be underestimated. Agree that we really didn't string more than 3 passes together, especially in the first half, and I don't think the pitch is helping - as much as I'm enjoying the weather, we could do with a few days heavy rain. That said, it probably suits how we're playing (i.e. scrapping, and fairly direct) to have a pitch like that, so the better passing sides can't get it down, and play around us. Noticeable that the players didn't really inspire the crowd, and things were very subdued - I know it's easy to say, harder to do, but we need to go back to being the 12th man at home, and help to make some noise and get some energy into the players. Hoping there will be a decent (and vocal) support at Hemel next week. I was scratching my head around the formation in the same way as others, seems we were just hitting Youngs as a target, and then trying to have Peake play off him for knock downs and flick ons. Sam did well, winning his fair share of first balls, but surely you want him being the player feeding off of a forward (possibly with Peake as well). The new fella up front looked like he could be quite useful when he came on, and seemed up to the physical challenge at least. Can't really comment too much on the penalty decision as I didn't have a great view, but the people I was with suggested it was handball, and could easily have been given. Still, we move on, plenty more twists and turns still to come, I'm sure, and given that we were in my eyes dead and buried after the Weymouth game, we're still in a position where it's just about in our own hands, so I'll take that.

I think Digger nailed it. WSM are strong but I’ve noticed before they do put a lot of effort into the first half and you will get spells in the second half. Last goal was a freak , and Mason had to go for it 0% blame. I’d sooner lose 4-2 than 3-2 if there is an increased chance of getting an equaliser at the end and pulling it back to 3-3. Ref was disappointing but they are variable at this level. WSM are a good side I can only think of Chelmsford that have played better than that this season

I am not sure what to make of that, I thought WSM were excellent in the first half, considering we also had two good chances in the half, but we were caught out by two well taken goals. I thought WSM were one of the better teams to play at the bridge this season. Second half WSM appeared to switch off and we were back in the game and then came one of the worst penalty decisions I have ever seen. Ref appeared to forget that all because WSM are in a black strip, that did not mean that they get every decision. Anyway 3-1 down and we pull one back and here we go again roller coaster 10 mins and the most amazing goal after MT goes up for the corner and the WSM clearance travels the whole length of the pitch to all but conclude an interesting afternoon full of goals, but no three points for the urchins.

If he knows where the back of the net is then he's got to be better than what we have....Chukwu does well holding the ball up and is a physical presence for balls over the top but his finishing is shocking though he could to be valuable at assists. Kasimu, not much use at much so easily replaceable!

If you sell them then you can demand a sell on fee, like we have for Leon. If it goes to a compensation claim then it’s just a fee that’ll be decided at a tribunal.

Truro are really going for it, however, Zac Bell has been with them for months on loan from Maidenhead so no surprise he's now signed a contract. Saw him in pre season at Maidenhead along with Tyrece Dyce and both looked good, but now, one at Truro, the other with no starts since months ago and no bench warming since Yeovil at home 22/2/25. I think Maidenhead's last seven games are all winnable, however, the opposition will all be thinking the same! Very interesting run in.

This is correct, until the age of 24 we would be entitled to compensation if we offered a player who was already on a contract a renewal which they turned down. They couldn’t just walk away for free. Having said that, the compensation amount in all honesty is pathetic. It’s all relative to the time spent at a club, hours put into the player and wages paid up until that point.
