Vase fast approaching after 3 games in a week
Well with three games in a week, has it been the best preparation for Torpoint Athletic, Cornwall's last remaining club in the FA Vase?
I went up to watch them last Saturday against Ivybridge, and ok, they were without their suspended league top scorer Adam Carter, but they lost 4-1 to a team that was on a six game run without a win!
They responded with a win on Monday at Liskeard, and then a resounding 5-1 at St Blazey two days later. Although, it sounds as if by this game, it was a weakened team with players being rested.
Let's hope scouts from their Vase opponents, Poole, were at all three games - they might be confused with the performances and the line-ups.
It's just a shame I won't be able to go up to the game, I'll be doing the commentary for DVD coverage of the Truro City v Cambridge City Southern League match. A six-pointer and City are asking for a good turn out to cheer them on.
